Membership Category

Student Member

A candidate that is an undergraduate or graduate student studying psychology and/or counseling professional qualification, can apply as a Student member provided a proof of enrollment. 

Annual Membership Fee: HKD$250

Ordinary Member

To qualify for election as a Ordinary member, a candidate shall possess a bachelor’s degree from an institution recognized by the Council majored in psychology or counseling or qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree majored in psychology or counseling.

Annual Membership Fee: HKD$500

Advance Ordinary Member

To qualify for election as a Advance Ordinary member, a candidate shall possess a Master’s degree from an institution recognized by the Council majored in psychology or counseling or qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree majored in psychology or counseling.

Annual Membership Fee: HKD$500

Affiliated Member

To qualify for election as a Affiliated Member, a candidate shall possess a bachelor’s degree from an institution recognized by the Council majored in related fields,eg, Social Work, Education,Psychiatry etc.

Annual Membership Fee: HKD$500

Fellow Member

To qualify for election as a Fellow Member, a candidate must demonstrate significant contributions to the field of psychology or counseling through research, practice, or education. The candidate must possess an advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) and have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the field, with a notable impact on the profession as recognized by peers.

Annual Membership Fee: HKD$500

Welfare of Member

  • Priority in participating in activities organized by our club
  • Members can participate in the association’s courses, lectures and workshops at member prices.

To Apply for Membership

  • Submit the application form, and the Association will review your qualifications before you are admitted.
  • The personal information provided by the applicant must be true, accurate, valid and complete. The application may not be accepted if the applicant does not provide sufficient personal information.
  • Membership needs to be renewed every year.
  • All members must pay annual membership fees to the Association.
  • Membership fee paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • If there is any membership change, the new membership will not take effect until the new membership fee is fully paid.
  • Any member may terminate their membership by submitting written notice to the Association.
  • If a member fails to abide by the Association’s rules and terms, or the member’s behavior is inconsistent with the Association’s professional code, the Board of Directors has the right to terminate their membership.

Personal Information collection statement:

  • The Association will treat the applicant’s information confidentially following the Cap.486 Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Applicants may request to access and correct the personal information in this application form. Please submit such requests to the Association in writing.
  • The personal information and documents filled in and submitted on the application form may be used by the Association for statistics and future contact purposes.
  • The Association will not retain the personal information of all members for one year after their membership is terminated.
